Organisation

The Federal Office of Justice in Bonn is the central service authority of the federal German judiciary, and is part of the subordinate area of the Federal Ministry of Justice. It is divided into eight directorates:

  • Directorate I: Administration
  • Directorate II: International Civil Law
  • Directorate III: International Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, Victim Support, Research
  • Directorate IV: Germany's Central Registers
  • Directorate V: Information Technology
  • Directorate VI: Disciplinary and Regulatory Fining Proceedings, Compulsory Execution
  • Directorate VII: Federal Legal Information Systems, Language Service Division
  • Directorate VIII: Processes Fining Procedures under the terms of the Network Enforcement Act
